Aspiring Law Students Who Want to Work in Arizona Should Go to Law School in Arizona

The latest ABA data for the law student hiring market in Arizona indicates that firms in Arizona tend to look first to students at Arizona-based law schools.  While it is not uncommon for law schools to place significant numbers of students in the same state where that law school resides, Arizona is unique in terms of how few students from non-Arizona law schools have been able to attain employment in the State. In fact, of the 434 law students hired in Arizona from the 2013 graduating class, 421 of them (or 97%) were educated in the State of Arizona.[1]  The following ranks the law schools which placed the most graduates in positions within the state of Arizona by number:

It is important to note that this particular listing is based on employment numbers only, without consideration for whether the position is as an attorney or other professional. Since the law schools that are ranked higher tend to place more students in lawyer positions, I included the 2015 US News Ranking for each law school.
